The WaFlorA Cup is the most prestigious award presented by the WA Floricultural
Association. The criteria for selecting a recipient for the award are
broad to allow WaFlorA to honor owners of businesses, deserving employees,
supplier firm personnel, or educators. The common attribute all recipients
have is extraordinary commitment and demonstrated service to the industry.
Annually two silver cups are presented to the recipient(s), both
of which have been donated by the Pacific Coast Nurseryman magazine.
The large perpetual cup is a "travelling award", given temporarily
to each year's recipient, containing a plaque that lists all previously
honored people. John Humes provides a smaller personal cup with the
currently honored person's name engraved.
